Libya is a Socialist State. I had forgotten that. That explains why Chavez has arrived to save the day.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Gaddafi and his family will need to symbolically exit the State – whether it be through death or exile. Historically, it has been through death. This uprising is different than Egypt in a couple of profound ways.
1) Libya is a pretend or failed Socialist State (as opposed to a pretend or failed Democratic State);
2) and perhaps more importantly, the Libyan military is willing to fire upon its people with live ammunition;
I’m sure arms already have been sent from the U.S. to … well, whomever. Unless Chavez convinces Gaddafi and his family to exist in Exile in Venezuela, it’s going to end violently.
And somehow the U.S. will intervene; and then it will get messy.
