To The Sea

To The Sea

written, recorded, & performed by Brad Kerr Green

[line]
A clear, bellish day
had rung in
as Copper Lady, freely,
would tell

A sharp, hellish rain.
A decade of pain.
To her left. To her left
they fell.
[line]
To the sea. To the sea
with you, sir.
Because you decided
to harm her
You brought down the sky,
made our girl cry
To the sea. To the sea
with you.
[line]
Eye for an Eye
had befallen
The bell that rang in
the 1st of May

She did not turn the other cheek
or run when she saw him.
She chanted,
“USA! USA!”
“USA! USA!”

[line]
To the sea. To the sea
with you, sir.
Because you decided
to harm her
You brought down the sky,
made our girl cry
To the sea. To the sea
with you.

Sonic Notes: The musical key of the piece is an important piece of the puzzle. The key and mode of each stanza not only portrays emotional qualities of the message, but also symbolizes timelines and locations. The form is A, B, C, B1. The corresponding keys are D Major (the beginning of the timeline), C# drone (one step above the C – not in the C), D Major (the end of the timeline), C Major (in the sea). It concludes by resolving to the C drone with 3 chimes.

What is the message of the third stanza?

Now, recall the moment you first heard the news, “Osama Bin Laden is dead, & we killed him.”

    What was your honest reaction?
